Wellness Vision -- Seeing what I really want ...
Good Afternoon! 2024? Yikes.
Today I have chosen to re-start my efforts. Why this today? I've graduated from homeschooling my children. They're now adults leading exciting and adventurous lives on their own. My daughter is planning her wedding, my eldest son is redesigning his bedroom, my youngest is awaiting transfer to Hawaii for his job. My husband is hinting at retirement. My "day job" is bookkeeping.
My heart's desire is to support you in seeking God, wellness, fitness, and peace in your day-to-day rhythms of work, life, more work and rest.
Welcome and welcome.
What is your wellness vision? What IS a wellness vision? It is a statement that you craft in positive language that describes your relationship to all the aspects of life that contribute (or detract) from your sense of peace with God and self. They include your relationship not just to food/weight/body image, but also to the people around you, to rest and work, to leisure and pleasure, to shopping and selling, to travel and to staying put. How do you define peace? Wellness? Have you even stopped to think about it?
I invite you into this marvelous journey of defining goals. After we understand what we really want, we can assess what we have and identify steps to get to what we truly desire. Once that direction is set, we will identify the mountains, oceans, boulders, mud pits and slippery surfaces that stand in our way and strategize the paths and gather the tools and support to get over, around, and through them to the wide places for our feet.
Would you like to join me?
Ponder this question: How do I feel upon rising in the morning as my future healthier self?
Example: Each day I awake rested, do my morning routine of face washing, tooth brushing. When I reach into my closet, my clothes fit and getting dressed is a pleasure. Because I stretched before bed, my sleep was good and this morning I feel more flexible -- both in mind and body. I am prepared to meet the challenges of my day.
Yours may vary. Use positive language at all times.
Psalm 18:25-36 Psalm 18 NIV (biblehub.com)
25To the faithful you show yourself faithful,
to the blameless you show yourself blameless,
26to the pure you show yourself pure,
but to the devious you show yourself shrewd.
27You save the humble
but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.
28You, Lord, keep my lamp burning;
my God turns my darkness into light.
29With your help I can advance against a troop e ;
with my God I can scale a wall.
30As for God, his way is perfect:
The Lord’s word is flawless;
he shields all who take refuge in him.
31For who is God besides the Lord?
And who is the Rock except our God?
32It is God who arms me with strength
and keeps my way secure.
33He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
he causes me to stand on the heights.
34He trains my hands for battle;
my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
35You make your saving help my shield,
and your right hand sustains me;
your help has made me great.
36You provide a broad path for my feet,
so that my ankles do not give way.
